Welcome to Wright's art shop,
the place to visit for all your artist
supplies. We stock a wide range of artist's materials and sundries from many
of the major suppliers, such as Winsor & Newton, Sennelier, Daler
Rowney, Pro-Arte, Daylight, Pebeo and Canson. From paint to paper, brushes
to canvas, easels, magnifying lamps & Books we stock everything you
need. And if we do not have what you require, we are sure to be able to
order it especially for you, from one of our large range of suppliers.
Not only that, we also offer a professional picture framing service to the
amateur, the professional and the commercial sector. We are able to frame
pictures to exhibition or heritage standards making our work suitable for
even the most demanding clients.
You can choose from a large selection of ready-made mounts and frames
including simple colour washed pines, ovals, intricate hand finished English
frames, circular and swept frames. Alternatively we stock a wide range of
mouldings, ranging from 1/2" to 6" width, from which we can produce frames
to your own specification. Add a large choice of mount card colours or wash
lined mounts and we can present your art work, photographs or tapestries to
suit any requirement.
A DIY framing service is offered as an alternative to the above. Supplying
any part to any stage of completion.
If you are craft minded we also stock a range of specialist paints such as
glass, ceramic, textile, silk and craft acrylic. Modelling clays are sure to
brighten a rainy afternoon!
The Gallery
Attached to the shop is a small gallery where we exhibit original pictures
from well know and respected local artists. We have shown pictures by Colin
Burns, Gillian Bramble, E J Bush, Peter Metcalf, P Shreeve And Wendy Reeves
amongst others. A superb collection of 19c works are also available from
vintage glass chrytsoleums to local artist of note including Stephen John
Batchelder, Roland Green, Arthur Edward Davies & William Leslie Rackham.
Also in the gallery you will find a wide selection of prints by David
Shepherd Simon Coombes, David Dipnall, Raymond Leech Spencer Hodge, John
Constable & Turner to name but a few. Sepia photographs recollect bygone
days. Available as they are or framed professionally by ourselves. They make
ideal gifts.
